Want to be free from health problems and burn your fats?
Easy, just reduce your rice portion...or maybe not?
We all know that diet plays a huge role in weight loss and our overall health. We could delay diseases, prevent further health complications, and burn fats effectively just by ensuring that our bodies get what it needs on the cellular level.
Some have claimed that carbohydrates, especially rice and bread, is the main problem and that we should reduce it.
In this article we will find out if that claim holds true and also, we will take a look at the benefits and cons of reducing our carbs intakes.
A Diet Known To Save People's Lives
1400 years ago, Avicenna observed how overfeeding was probably one of the cause for epilepsy.
In 400BC, Hippocrates observed a patient who had seizures for five days straight and on day 6, after abstaining from food and drink, his seizures stopped.
In 1911, physical culturist Bernarr McFadden tried fasting on children who had epilepsy concluded that fasting for 3-5 days straight could cure everything.
Recently, bodybuilding athletes tried out this hyped-up diet and the results they got is a dream come true for every bodybuilder-Eating all the fatty foods and they are still able to get sexy hard abs.
One word, "Wow".
Who would have thought that starvation could cure diseases. So, let's take a look at how this amazing way of eating could help save lives.
How Fasting Could Cure Diseases
Yup, it is due to ketosis. When our body is in a starvation state for more than 72 hours it goes through ketosis.
When our body goes through ketosis, many wonderful things happen to us. Ketosis can boost our metabolic process greatly by regulating it back to normal state or by improving its effectiveness.
Meaning, our body will be able to fend off diseases easily, burn off excess calories effectively, and keep our heart and brain and all other organs working well.
Who wouldn't want that!?
What is ketosis to begin with?
Ketosis is what happens when our body mainly uses ketones as its source of energy. It still needs some traces of glucose for the process to take place.
Ketones is the product of keteogenesis. A very uncomfortable process for both the internal body systems and ourselves.
Naturally, our body prefers to use glucose that we get from eating rice, bread or any other carbohydrates sources. So, when we reduce our rice portion, we reduce our glucose level as well.
When there is a lack of glucose in our body, our body blood sugar level in the bloodstream will drop.
We will start feeling hungry and weak because our brain hates it when there is not enough glucose to munch on.
So, it signals a low-sugar level alert by being a jerk and making us think about our favorite foods at the wrong time (Like during meetings).
If we continue to starve ourselves longer, our body will start to think "Hey, this dude is ignoring our signals to get some food. We need food now..hmm..wait..there are huge piles of food in the fat stores section..but, it's so hard to get it out!! Let's keep nudging them until it get out guys!!"
When this happens, our fat cells will start to release the fatty acids from the fat stores slowly (depending on our health condition) which usually happens between 48-72 hours of having low glucose level.
The fatty acids will go into other cells to go through a series of complex chemical reactions known as beta-oxidation until we get the final product known as ketones.
Those ketones will then be released again into the bloodstream and other cells can now use it as energy source.
And that is how our body goes through ketosis (phew...managed to make it sound less nerdy).
How to achieve ketosis to lose weight?
All the talk about ketosis curing diseases and normalizing our metabolic processes and I'm still left with the question "How to burn fat with this ketosis thingy??"
The main thing to understand is that when we are in ketosis, the body is literally burning our fat cells storage to keep us alive.
Well..is that obvious enough?
There are three common ways that you can do to achieve this state and each of them has its pros and cons.
Some of the cons might even be life-threatening!!
Again, I really wish many people would try this diet. Its benefits will greatly affect your health and life as a whole.
