Communication between people is the most essential skill, yet many of us seemed to be not good at it.
I remembered an incident between me and my previous business partner that made me felt frustrated way beyond my "I can still smile"- threshold after he proved how useless he was.
Why did I got frustrated, you may ask? Well..
For more than 5 months of preparations and meetings, he had not even started on the things he promised to do, and yet he kept giving me advice on how to do my part!
I was mustering all the strength I could to not slap him in the face, really. Instead, I pointed out all of his mistakes and unacceptable behaviors in a very sarcastic tone enough to make him feel attacked and annoyed.
What happened next was hard to swallow.....
With the ongoing issue about OkLet'sGo podcast being scrutinized for having contents related to misogyny, I have become more aware of who I mixed around with.
I feel somewhat guilty that it is a norm for guys to talk about a lady's "asset" as a form of a joke or a way to get a friend's attention. It all depends on what we value in life, I guess.
What we value in life are influenced by our surroundings, our upbringing, especially from our parents and people we hang out with all the time.
That is why it is crucial to take notice of who we regard as friends
